Synopsis:
In the years of the Roman Empire from the reign of Augustus and his successor Tiberius, Judah Ben-Hur, the son of a noble family from Jerusalem, and Messala, the Roman tribune who leads the armies of occupation, have become irreconcilable enemies. Charged with endangering the life of the new Roman governor, Messala imprisoned him and his family. When carried to the gallows Ben-Hur, a young man named Jesus of Nazareth takes pity on him and gives him a drink.
